The National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) has opened applications for 110 Graduate Engineer Trainee positions, providing a strong opportunity for GATE-qualified engineers seeking secure public-sector employment. The recruitment drive targets fresh engineering graduates and postgraduates across mechanical, electrical and chemical disciplines, with online applications accepted from 2 January to 22 January 2026.

NALCO Vacancy 2026 key details

NALCO is recruiting for 110 Graduate Engineer Trainee posts distributed as follows: Mechanical 59, Electrical 27 and Chemical 24. Candidates must apply through the official portal (nalcoindia.com) between 2 January 2026 and 22 January 2026; the online window closes at 5pm on the last date.

Successful applicants will be placed on a pay scale that offers a monthly remuneration in the range of ₹40,000 to ₹1,40,000, depending on grade and experience. The company, a central public sector enterprise under the Indian Government, specialises in aluminium production and is classified as a Navratna PSU.

Eligibility and selection process

Educational requirements specify a full-time degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering or an MTech from a recognised university. Importantly, candidates must possess a valid GATE-2025 scorecard; NALCO will use GATE-2025 marks to shortlist applicants for interview. Final selection will be based on a combined evaluation of the GATE score and performance at the interview stage. No separate written examination will be conducted for this recruitment.

The maximum age limit is set at 30 years as on the closing date, with age relaxations applicable as per government rules for reserved categories. Application fees are Rs. 500 for General, OBC and EWS candidates. Departmental and other category candidates will pay a reduced fee of Rs. 100.

How to apply and important dates

Candidates should read the official notification and apply only via the NALCO website at nalcoindia.com. The recruitment notification and application link are available on the careers page. Applicants must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria and that their GATE-2025 scorecard is valid and available for upload during the application process.

Key dates:

  • Application start date: 2 January 2026
  • Application end date: 22 January 2026 (5pm)

Advice for applicants

Prospective candidates should prepare the required documents in advance, including educational certificates, GATE-2025 scorecard and proof of age and category (where applicable). Given that shortlisting depends heavily on GATE performance, candidates with stronger GATE scores are likely to receive interview calls. Keep an eye on the official portal for any corrigenda or updates to the recruitment schedule.

This recruitment offers a noteworthy route into a major public-sector aluminium producer in India, combining stable remuneration with the chance to begin a technical career within a Navratna PSU. Interested engineers are advised to apply within the prescribed window to be considered for the Graduate Engineer Trainee vacancies at NALCO.

Key Takeaways:

  • NALCO Vacancy 2026 announces 110 Graduate Engineer Trainee posts in India across mechanical, electrical and chemical disciplines.
  • Applications open from 2 January to 22 January 2026 on the official website nalcoindia.com; selection based on GATE-2025 score and interview.
  • Monthly pay scale ranges from ₹40,000 to ₹1,40,000; upper age limit 30 years with standard relaxations for reserved categories.
