The National Testing Agency (NTA) has opened applications for the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026, which will determine admission to 47 central universities and more than 300 participating colleges across India. Candidates may submit applications online at the official portal cuet.nta.nic.in. The agency has set a clear timetable for registration, fee payment and the examination window to help prospective applicants plan their schedules.

CUET UG 2026 registration: key dates and eligibility

Registration for CUET UG 2026 began on 3 January 2026 and will remain open until 30 January 2026. Candidates must pay the application fee by 31 January 2026. A correction facility will be available from 2 to 4 February 2026 for applicants who need to amend submitted details. The examination is scheduled to be conducted between 11 and 31 May 2026.

There is no upper age limit to apply for CUET UG 2026. Any candidate who has passed Class 12 or is appearing in the Class 12 board examinations this year is eligible to register. Applicants should ensure that they meet specific eligibility criteria outlined by the individual universities to which they intend to apply, as some institutions may add subject-specific or other requirements.

How to apply and payment options

Applicants should visit cuet.nta.nic.in and select the CUET UG 2026 registration or apply online link on the homepage. New applicants must complete the one-time registration by creating a registration ID and password. After logging in, candidates should complete the online application form, ensuring all requested details are entered carefully.

Photograph and signature uploads must conform to NTA specifications. Payment of the application fee can be made using credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI. Candidates are advised to retain a printed copy of the submitted form and the fee receipt for future reference.

Correction window and exam scheduling

The NTA will open a correction window from 2 to 4 February 2026. This period allows applicants to correct any inadvertent errors in their submitted forms. After the correction window closes, no further changes will be permitted.

The examination will be conducted over multiple days between 11 and 31 May 2026 to accommodate the large number of candidates and the range of subjects offered. Candidates will be able to select their preferred exam slots and subjects as per the instructions published by the NTA in the information bulletin and subsequent notifications.

What applicants should check before submitting

Before submission, applicants should verify personal details, subject choices and reservation category information. They should also confirm that uploaded documents meet prescribed formats and sizes. Where universities require additional eligibility proofs, candidates should prepare those documents in advance to avoid delays in admission processing.

With central universities and affiliated colleges using the CUET UG score for admissions, timely registration and careful form submission will be crucial for candidates seeking undergraduate seats across the country. For the latest updates, candidates should monitor the official NTA website and follow any instructions published in the official information bulletin.

Key Takeaways:

  • CUET UG 2026 registration has opened on the NTA portal; apply by 30 January 2026.
  • Exam window is scheduled between 11 and 31 May 2026; fee payment deadline is 31 January 2026.
  • Any candidate who has passed or is appearing in Class 12 is eligible; correction window runs 2–4 February 2026.
