By presidential decree, the team of VolgGMU received the Order of Honour in recognition of their work in preparing medical personnel and for scientific and pedagogical achievements. Two individuals received federal merit titles: Marina Koroleva, chief physician at Emergency Medical Hospital No. 25, was named a Merited Worker of Healthcare of the Russian Federation, and Alexander Korotkov, rector of Volgograd State Pedagogical University, was named a Merited Worker of Higher Education.
Regional awards also highlighted cultural and sporting achievement.
