Seventy-five members of the 1991 Class 10 batch of Gulmohur High School in Jamshedpur reunited for Revibe91 from 26 to 28 December 2025, turning three days of reunion into a pledge to give back. The gathering drew former pupils from across the United States, the United Kingdom, Dubai and Indian cities, and shifted the tone of nostalgia into a renewed sense of purpose.

Gulmohur High School reunion draws alumni back to Jamshedpur

The reunion began as a familiar celebration of shared memories: conversations in the school corridors, laughter over childhood anecdotes and quiet moments remembering teachers and classmates who have passed away. Those tributes were among the most moving elements of the event, as alumni offered heartfelt remembrances and acknowledged life’s fragility.

Yet Revibe91 evolved beyond reminiscence. Members of the batch described a collective urge to translate gratitude into action, and they formalised that intent by launching a community initiative called Gratitude for Gulmohur. The programme will support underprivileged children in the area, providing educational resources and opportunities aimed at helping them pursue their ambitions.

Organisers said the new CSR drive will focus on tangible, local interventions: scholarships, provision of school supplies and mentoring by alumni volunteers. Several attendees committed seed funding and pledged to mobilise additional resources from their professional networks. The approach underlined how alumni ties can be channelled into measurable benefits for the next generation.

For many who attended, the reunion brought a reversal of long-held childhood feelings. Where once summer breaks and trips away meant the sorrow of returning to school life, alumni spoke of arriving in Jamshedpur with genuine enthusiasm and leaving with a sense of gratitude. That shift in emotion illustrated the reunion’s deeper effect: turning past sadness into a living legacy.

Speakers at the event emphasised continuity between past and future. They described how lessons learned in school — discipline, friendship and service — informed their careers and private lives. By opening the conversation to community support, the batch insisted the reunion should leave more than memories behind; it should produce lasting benefit for the city that shaped them.

Revibe91 also offered practical moments for planning. Committees were formed to design the CSR’s first projects and to establish governance for funds and volunteer activity. Alumni with experience in education, finance and non-profit work agreed to guide implementation and ensure transparency.

Local school officials and community representatives attended parts of the reunion to discuss needs and possible partnerships. That engagement suggested the initiative could integrate with existing programmes in Jamshedpur rather than duplicating effort. Alumni said they preferred a collaborative model that would amplify local expertise.

As the event ended, attendees expressed a quiet optimism. The reunion had restored old connections and generated new commitments. In the words of one alumnus, the gathering closed a circle: what began as a childhood reluctance to return to school had become a reason to come back and contribute.

Gratitude for Gulmohur now faces the practical work of turning pledges into outcomes. If successful, the initiative will stand as an example of how alumni networks can convert reunion energy into sustained community development.
