The workshop opened with remarks from James Coutinho, Education Officer for the Mangalore North constituency, who welcomed MEIF’s continued collaboration with the education department. Coutinho said the organisation’s district-wide efforts have complemented official initiatives to raise SSLC pass rates and overall student performance.

MEIF president Moosabb P. Bari Jokatte chaired the event and used the occasion to outline the forum’s forthcoming plans, emphasising sustained support for schools in the region. MEIF adviser Farooq, associated with an airline programme, was also present and contributed to discussions on expanding student exposure to career pathways.
Resource persons included Shubha Bhat from Kenra High School and Ramya from Badaga Ekkaru High School, who led sessions designed to boost exam technique, time management and subject-specific revision. Participating students received practical tips and mock-question practice aimed at reducing exam anxiety and improving time management.
The principal of Barrie’s Public School, Khateejatul Kubra, welcomed attendees and praised the partnership between schools and community organisations. MEIF secretary Anwar Hussain Gudinabali offered a vote of thanks at the close of the opening session.
A total of 138 selected students from 12 educational institutions in the Mangalore city area took part. The selection reflected a mix of high-potential pupils and those identified as needing extra support ahead of the SSLC examinations.
Organisers said the workshop is one of a series planned across the two districts, aimed at sustaining performance gains and ensuring that students from diverse backgrounds receive targeted support. By combining local teaching expertise with external advisers, MEIF hopes to deliver measurable improvements in SSLC outcomes.
Participants and school representatives noted the practical focus of the workshop. Trainers prioritised exam technique and confidence-building, with interactive sessions intended to leave students better prepared for the fast-approaching public examinations.
MEIF indicated it will monitor progress from the workshops and coordinate further sessions where needed. For many students, the programme offered timely guidance and a boost in confidence as they prepare for one of the most important examinations of their school career.
