Which iPhones Will Be Compatible with iOS 27 in Brazil

Apple has not yet confirmed which iPhones will receive iOS 27, but signals from recent releases point to broad device support that should include many phones used in Brazil. Expectations are that the update will bring new artificial intelligence features and general performance improvements, with an announcement likely at WWDC 2026 and a full public release later in the year.

iPhones compatible with iOS 27 — expected devices

At present, iOS 26 supports iPhone 11 and newer models. That list covers a wide range of devices still common in the Brazilian market, including the iPhone 12 and 13 families. If Apple maintains the same compatibility rules, iOS 27 will also run on these models and on more recent handsets such as the iPhone 14, 15 and 16 series. Analysts have suggested Apple could tighten requirements to start at iPhone 12, but there is no official confirmation.

The current roster of devices running iOS 26 includes iPhone 17, 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max; iPhone Air; iPhone 16 series; iPhone 15 series; iPhone 14 series; iPhone 13 and 12 families; iPhone 11 series and iPhone SE (2nd generation and later). That list gives a practical guide to what to expect for iOS 27, since Apple typically phases out only a few older models at each major release.

What new features to expect

Few concrete details have leaked so far about iOS 27. The strongest signals point to expanded on-device intelligence, new machine learning capabilities for photography and messaging, and refinements to battery and performance management. These updates aim to enhance everyday tasks without necessarily requiring the newest hardware, although some advanced AI features may be limited to devices with more recent chips.

For users in Brazil, this means many mid‑generation iPhones should still benefit from core improvements, while flagship devices will likely get the full feature set. Apple’s approach in recent years has been to roll out features selectively, enabling older phones to receive essential improvements while reserving the most demanding functions for newer silicon.

Timing and roll‑out

Based on Apple’s calendar, iOS 27 is expected to be unveiled at WWDC in June 2026. Apple typically releases developer and public betas over the summer, with a broad public release in the second half of the year alongside new hardware. Brazilian users who prefer stability should wait for the public release, while developers and enthusiasts may join the beta programme to test early builds.

How to prepare

Users hoping to upgrade should check device compatibility and free up storage before installation. Back up your iPhone via iCloud or a local computer, update apps, and review battery health. If you plan to join the beta, remember betas can be unstable and are best used on secondary devices. For businesses and service providers in Brazil, testing in a controlled environment will reduce disruption when the update reaches a wider audience.

Until Apple publishes an official compatibility list, the safest assumption is that iOS 27 will support the same range of devices as iOS 26 or will require only slightly newer hardware. Watch for Apple’s statement at WWDC 2026 for definitive details.

Key Takeaways:

  • Apple has not confirmed the iPhone models for iOS 27, but patterns suggest support for devices as old as iPhone 11 or iPhone 12.
  • iOS 27 is expected to introduce new artificial intelligence features and performance improvements.
  • Apple will likely announce iOS 27 at WWDC 2026 with a public release in the second half of 2026.
  • Brazilian users should check device storage, join the beta programme cautiously and prepare for incremental rollouts by model.
