Dubai will welcome the fourth edition of the 1 Billion Followers Summit from 9 to 11 January 2026, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. Organised by the UAE Government Media Office and hosted across Emirates Towers, the Dubai International Financial Centre and the Museum of the Future, the three-day event will run under the theme ‘Content for Good’.
1 Billion Followers Summit agenda and impact
Officials said the summit has grown rapidly since its launch and now stands as a major global gathering for content creators. Saeed Al Eter, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Projects and Chairman of the UAE Government Media Office, said the event is integral to the UAE’s aim to become a global media capital. The agenda includes more than 580 sessions and content workshops, with over 500 speakers and a projected attendance of 15,000 creators and influencers from the Arab world and beyond.
The summit will span three main tracks—Economy, Content and Technology—bringing together leaders from major platforms, media houses and technology firms. Delegates will cover topics ranging from financial literacy and entrepreneurship to healthcare, education and community building, as well as debates on intellectual property and misinformation.
Impact creation and major partnerships
Al Eter set out two central pillars for the 2026 edition. The first shifts the spotlight from content creation to impact creation. The summit has forged strategic partnerships with YouTube, TikTok, Snapchat, X and Meta to support socially beneficial content. One notable initiative is the Educator Award, launched in partnership with TikTok, which drew more than 610,000 applicants and 320,000 videos that collectively achieved 1.8 billion views.
In an effort to promote charitable action, the summit teamed with James Stephen Donaldson, known as MrBeast, to launch the 1 Billion Acts of Kindness campaign. Organisers say the campaign inspired over 170,000 acts of kindness and achieved more than 100 million views in three weeks. The top ten creators from the campaign will collaborate with MrBeast, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives and the Varkey Foundation on humanitarian projects.
AI, film and funding for creators
The second pillar focuses on integrating AI tools into content production. In partnership with Google Gemini, the summit introduced an AI Film Award with a US$1 million grand prize. The initiative attracted entries from dozens of countries and tens of thousands of participants. Organisers shortlisted 12 films for public voting, with five finalists due to be screened during the event.
The summit will also host the Creators Ventures Accelerator, organised by Creators HQ and 500 Global, a world-first programme designed to fund creative startups. The accelerator received 1,131 applications from more than 70 countries and offers winners investment opportunities and funding of up to AED 50 million.
Key speakers include MrBeast, Will Smith, Lara Trump, Max Amini and a range of global CEOs and industry experts. The summit’s mix of platform leaders, creators and investors is intended to stimulate talent, support technology adoption and unlock funding for the creator economy.
Organisers say the 1 Billion Followers Summit will not only showcase new media trends, but also equip creators with the tools and partnerships to convert digital influence into tangible social and economic outcomes. The event’s emphasis on education, technology and philanthropic action positions it as a major milestone in the global development of the creator economy.
