The University of Economics, Da Nang (DUE) has closed 2025 on a string of achievements and is entering 2026 with a clear set of priorities to raise educational quality and deepen international integration. The university’s leadership says it will maximise existing capacity and use resources effectively to meet the ambitions set out in its decade-long strategy.

Da Nang University of Economics to sharpen international integration and quality

In 2025 the university successfully hosted the ninth Party Congress for its board, establishing strategic directions for 2025–2030. Leaders completed an organisational review to streamline administration and strengthen management teams, supporting a more stable and responsive governance structure.

Investment in campus infrastructure was stepped up and many facilities and pieces of equipment were upgraded to create modern, eco-friendly spaces for teaching, research and work. Digitisation initiatives also progressed, with expanded use of digital platforms to deliver a more advanced learning experience aligned with international benchmarks.

DUE reaffirmed its role in applied research and policy advisory work for the city. Faculty produced notable research and consultancy outputs that contributed practical recommendations to local authorities, especially as Da Nang prepares to develop a Free Trade Zone and an International Financial Centre. The university’s strengthened ties with business and international partners provided students and staff with new opportunities for internships, exchanges and collaborative projects.

Academic staff received national recognition throughout the year. Among the accolades were two promotions to full professor and four to associate professor, reflecting the institution’s emphasis on building a strong academic workforce.

Plans for 2026: staff development, governance and diversified programmes

For 2026 DUE will concentrate on five pillars: digital transformation; innovation and entrepreneurship; human and community development; green transition; and international integration and partnerships. The university intends to strengthen staff recruitment and retention, encourage faculty to supervise doctoral candidates, and implement a clear plan to increase the proportion of professors and associate professors.

Governance reform will continue with a focus on autonomy, professionalism and modern management. Investment in facilities will remain a priority while teaching methods will combine traditional approaches with contemporary practices, including blended learning and wider digital adoption.

Student recruitment, teaching quality and research are central tasks. DUE plans a targeted admissions strategy and will diversify learning pathways through ladder programmes, combined-degree options, English-taught courses and short-term exchange programmes. Quality assurance systems will be enhanced to entrench a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and research.

The university also plans to expand its policy advisory role, partnering with the city on research and development for the planned International Financial Centre and Free Trade Zone, and offering regular policy reviews and reports. Strengthening relationships with industry, improving student services, and enhancing communications and digital outreach will complete the set of priorities for the year.

These initiatives position Da Nang University of Economics to support local economic development, provide graduates with internationally relevant skills and deepen the institution’s engagement with regional and global partners.
