Key Takeaways:
- Sverdlovsk gasification funding secures a new 500 million rouble tranche from Gazprom to extend the social gasification programme.
- An additional agreement between regional operator GAZEKS and Gazprom Gasification expanded off-budget support by nearly 2 billion roubles.
- Works will connect networks to thousands more plots across multiple districts and municipalities, building on 4.3 billion roubles already received in 2025.
Sverdlovsk Region to Receive 500 Million Roubles for Gasification Expansion
The Sverdlovsk region will receive an additional 500 million roubles from Russia’s gas operator to continue its social gasification programme, Governor Denis Pasler said on his social channels. The funding is intended to maintain the pace of works and extend the availability of natural gas to residential properties across the region.
Sverdlovsk gasification funding
The new tranche comes as part of a supplementary agreement signed late in 2025 between the regional gas operator AO GAZEKS and the national operator Gazprom Gasification LLC. That agreement increases the total off-budget financing for the region’s gasification drive by almost 2 billion roubles, Pasler wrote.
Officials say the extra funds will be used to continue building distribution networks, bring mains to settlement boundaries and speed up household connections. Since the start of 2025 the region has received about 4.3 billion roubles from the single gasification operator, enabling networks to be extended to the borders of more than 13,000 residential plots.
Work is planned across a wide area of the region. Target districts include Beloyarsky, Asbestovsky, Berezovsky, Zarechny, Verkhnepyshminsky, Sredneuralsky, Nevyansky, Rezhevsky, Artemovsky, Kirovgradsky, Verkhotursky and Novouralsky. Municipal formations such as Alapaevsk and Alapaevskoye are also on the list, along with other localities where demand for household gas connections is high.
Governor Pasler said maintaining high work rates is vital so that residents across the region can access natural gas as soon as possible. “Despite good progress on connections this year, we must not slow down,” he said, stressing the social and practical benefits of expanding the gas network for private households.
Local officials have emphasised that the programme is part of a broader effort to improve living conditions and reduce heating costs for residents who switch from more expensive or less convenient fuels. Earlier reporting by Oblastnaya Gazeta highlighted how hundreds of private homeowners in Nizhny Tagil moved to gas heating under the “Clean Air” project, reducing emissions and household fuel bills.
The additional funding from Gazprom forms part of a public-private approach to regional gasification that uses off-budget resources to accelerate delivery. By directing funds through specialised operators, regional authorities aim to reduce delays in construction and connection, ensuring that new households can be hooked up soon after mains reach their plots.
As work progresses, authorities will continue to publish schedules and connection procedures to keep residents informed. The expanded financing is expected to support both the immediate build-out of networks and the administrative processes needed to complete household hookups.

With the new tranche, regional officials say the programme will sustain momentum and deliver tangible benefits to households across Sverdlovsk, while building on the nearly 4.3 billion roubles already invested this year.
