Dr Ahmed Al‑Ansari, Governor of Fayoum, presented a commemorative shield to Mr Ahmed Shaker, the Assistant Secretary General of the Fayoum governorate, in recognition of his reaching the legal retirement age. The ceremony, held at the governorate headquarters, was attended by Deputy Governor Dr Mohamed Al‑Touni, Secretary General Kamel Ali Ghatass, the military adviser’s deputy Brigadier General Haitham Mokhtar, ministry deputies, city council heads and senior directors.

The governor offered warm congratulations to Mr Shaker and wished him health and happiness in retirement, while extending New Year greetings to all present for 2026. Dr Al‑Ansari praised Mr Shaker’s conduct during nearly six years of service in Fayoum, a period in which he served first as head of Fayoum city and later as Assistant Secretary General of the governorate.

According to the governor, Mr Shaker demonstrated consistent responsibility, dedication and professionalism when handling a wide range of administrative files. His work earned him a reputation for punctuality, integrity and effective management, qualities the governor said deserved both recognition and emulation by other members of the executive body.

Dr Al‑Ansari underlined that recognising diligent public servants is essential to honouring their contribution and encouraging those who follow. He reminded officials across the governorate of the need to shoulder responsibility and to base decisions on sound evidence and practical considerations.

In his remarks, Mr Shaker expressed deep gratitude to the governor for the gesture, describing it as a reflection of the governor’s humanity and noble character. He thanked the governor for his respectful and supportive conduct during their years of joint service in both Sohag and Fayoum governorates, and extended his appreciation to colleagues across the executive apparatus for their cooperation and collegial spirit.

Mr Shaker emphasised the importance of teamwork in delivering public services. He said collaborative working was a central pillar in addressing vital matters affecting the public interest, such as land regularisation and reconciliation, spatial planning adjustments, building permits and commercial licences. He urged staff to maintain focus on these priorities to ensure efficient service delivery for citizens.

The ceremony reflected a wider message about public service and institutional stability at the local level. Officials noted that steady management of everyday administrative tasks helps protect state and citizen interests and supports the orderly development of urban and commercial activity within the governorate.

As the Fayoum administration looks ahead, Dr Al‑Ansari called on the executive team to continue exercising diligence, integrity and scientific rigour when taking decisions. He said such standards would help preserve public trust and improve outcomes for residents across Fayoum.

Mr Shaker leaves public office having earned widespread acknowledgement for his conscientious approach and effective performance. Colleagues at the event celebrated his contribution and wished him success in his retirement, echoing the governor’s hopes for good health and well‑being in the years ahead.
