Ghaziabad district will administer the NIPUN assessment in all 446 parishadiya (peripheral) schools from 27 January, officials confirmed. The programme, which evaluates foundational skills in mathematics and language for children in grades one and two, expands from 310 participating schools in the previous session.
NIPUN assessment Ghaziabad rollout and schedule
The District Institute of Education and Training will deploy teams to schools to conduct online tests through the NIPUN Lakshya application. Examination activity will take place over seven days and will be arranged in two shifts each day. Officials say a single DIET team will visit two schools per day and that administering the assessment at one school takes approximately three hours.
To ensure representative sampling and maintain transparency, a maximum of 12 pupils per class will sit the test. If a class has fewer than 12 pupils, all children in that class will participate. During the examination, teams may call any 12 pupils to participate in order to preserve the integrity of the process.
The assessment focuses on early numeracy and literacy, assessing basic mathematics and language abilities aligned with the NIPUN Bharat campaign’s objectives to strengthen foundational learning. Authorities have issued rosters to schools and stressed that all logistical preparations must be complete to avoid disruptions on test days.
Training and previous performance
Training sessions have been completed for the teams that will administer the tests and supervise operations in schools. Department officials have instructed teams to follow the roster and to report any issues promptly so they can be resolved without delaying the schedule.
Last academic session, the NIPUN assessment covered 310 schools in the district and produced a pass rate of 71 per cent, with 223 schools declared to have met the NIPUN criteria. Those schools received recognition from the authorities for their performance. Officials credit both teachers and pupils for the improved outcomes and say the expanded coverage aims to raise foundational learning outcomes across the district.
Operational notes and objectives
The online format, run through the NIPUN Lakshya app, allows teams to record results centrally and monitor completion rates. By expanding to all 446 parishadiya schools, the district hopes to identify learning gaps early and direct targeted support where it is most needed. The district basic education office has emphasised that teachers have worked hard with pupils to prepare for the assessments, and that successful schools will continue to receive encouragement and recognition.
District Basic Education Officer O P Yadav said that departmental preparations are under way and that all stakeholders have been briefed to ensure a smooth exercise. The drive reflects a broader national effort under the NIPUN Bharat mission to consolidate foundational literacy and numeracy among young learners.
