The Jalandhar Municipal Corporation has announced a recruitment drive for 1,196 posts, aimed at creating employment for local youth. Commissioner Sandeep Rishi confirmed the vacancies, saying applications will be accepted through an offline submission process with forms available to download from the civic website.

Jalandhar municipal corporation recruitment vacancies and application timeline

The recruitment covers five categories: 406 posts for Garden Belladar, 440 for Sanitation Worker, 165 for Sewerage, 160 for Road Belladar and 25 for Fire Kuli. Prospective applicants may download the application form from the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation website from 10 January 2026. Completed forms must be deposited at centres designated by the corporation from 15 January 2026. The deadline for submission is 27 February 2026, and forms will be accepted until 5:00 pm on that day.

Authorities have kept the application process offline to ensure access for candidates who may not have reliable internet access. Applicants are advised to carefully follow the instructions on the downloadable form and to retain proof of submission. Any corrigenda or updates related to the recruitment will be published only on the official municipal website.

Selection process and reservation policy

Mayor Vanit Dhir said the recruitment will be handled with transparency and in accordance with Punjab government reservation rules. The selection committees decisions will be final. Candidates should note that the corporation has emphasised an open and fair process and will publish only authenticated notices and corrections on its portal. Applicants should therefore rely on the municipal website for authoritative information.

Who should apply and how to prepare

The drive targets local youth seeking steady employment in municipal services. Roles such as Garden Belladar and Road Belladar will involve outdoor labour and maintenance duties, while Sanitation Worker and Sewerage positions will concentrate on public hygiene and drainage upkeep. Fire Kuli posts are expected to support municipal fire services.

Applicants should ensure they meet any educational or physical criteria listed in the official notification and collate required documents before submitting the offline form. It is advisable to obtain and verify the downloadable form from the civic website starting 10 January, complete it carefully, and submit it at the specified centre from 15 January. Keep copies of the completed form and proof of submission until the process concludes.

Impact and outlook

The Jalandhar municipal corporation recruitment is likely to provide a significant boost to local employment and municipal service capacity. Filling nearly 1,200 posts will not only help reduce unemployment among local youth but also strengthen essential civic services across the city. With clear timelines and an emphasis on transparency, the corporation aims to deliver appointments in an orderly manner and to ensure that eligible candidates benefit from the opportunity.

For the latest information and any official updates, candidates should consult the Jalandhar Municipal Corporation website. Queries regarding the recruitment process will be handled by the corporation as per the notice published on the official portal.
