The Ruvi KMCC arranged the memorial gathering soon after Ahmad’s death, drawing attendance from national and local KMCC leaders. Shameer Parayil, national committee vice‑president of KMCC, officially opened the session. The event was framed as an opportunity for collective remembrance and to acknowledge Ahmad’s years of service to the Kerala community in Oman.
P.A.V. Abubakker, a member of the World KMCC executive committee, delivered a reflective remembrance address, recalling Ahmad’s dedication and influence within the expatriate community. Rafiq Sreekantapuram, president of Ruvi KMCC, presided over the meeting and guided the proceedings.
Speakers offered personal recollections and highlighted ways Ahmad had supported community initiatives. Among those who spoke were PTK Shameer, Mujeeb Kadalundi, Moiz and Ashraf Kinvakkal. Their remarks underlined Ahmad’s role in fostering social ties and supporting cultural and religious activities for Keralites living in Oman.
Rauf Murichandi offered the welcome address, and Sulaiman Kutti expressed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the organisers and attendees for coming together in a show of solidarity. The gathering reflected the close‑knit nature of the KMCC network and its continuing role as a focal point for expatriate Malayali life in Muscat.
While the meeting was primarily a local community event, it also demonstrated the wider KMCC structure’s ability to mobilise and support members across borders. Representatives from various KMCC tiers underscored the importance of maintaining communal bonds and providing mutual assistance to those away from home.
Organisers noted that such formal condolence sessions serve multiple purposes: they honour the deceased, provide comfort to grieving families, and reaffirm communal structures that assist expatriates in social, cultural and welfare matters. The Ruvi KMCC’s initiative in Muscat once again highlighted the organisation’s ongoing commitment to these aims.
Attendees left the meeting with a renewed sense of unity and a shared commitment to preserving the memory of Kizhakkayil Ahmad through continued community service. The KMCC said it would keep members informed of any further commemorative activities planned in Ahmad’s memory.
