An 18-year-old from Metagalli, near Mysuru, has been credited with averting a potentially serious railway accident after he stopped a fire from spreading across railway tracks.

“I did not think twice,” Prajwal told reporters. “I took a water can from the shop and started bringing water from nearby homes. Several trains pass along this track regularly. I feared the fire could spread to the railway line and cause serious damage. I did everything I could to stop it.”
