India’s Bihar Set to Announce BPSC TRE 4 Notification in February 2026 with 27,000+ Teacher Vacancies

The Bihar Public Service Commission is expected to publish the BPSC TRE 4 notification in February 2026, offering more than 27,000 teaching positions across the state. The announcement follows a fresh round of vacancy submissions from more than 35 districts as the state moves to fast-track recruitments promised by the government.

BPSC TRE 4 notification timeline and expected vacancies

District education offices have been collecting and forwarding detailed vacancy registers to the education department. The director of secondary education instructed all district education officers to send roster registers and related documents to the department by 5 January. Officials expect the education department to consolidate the returns and forward vacancy details to the Commission by about 15 January 2026. If the schedule holds, the BPSC TRE 4 notification could follow in February, with the online application window opening shortly after the notice is issued.

State ministers and officials have suggested that the fourth phase of the Teacher Recruitment Examination could fill more than 25,000 posts, and some estimates indicate the total could exceed 27,000 vacancies. The largest share is likely to be for secondary and higher secondary schools, with an anticipated 15,000 to 16,000 openings. Primary and upper-primary teacher posts are expected to account for over 10,000 vacancies, many of which remained unfilled in the previous TRE phase.

What candidates should know about the BPSC TRE 4 notification

Candidates preparing for government teaching jobs in Bihar should monitor the official BPSC website at bpsc.bihar.gov.in for the formal notification and application details. The notification will set out post-wise eligibility, reservation norms, roster-based allocation, and the application procedure.

Minimum academic requirements will vary by post. For primary teacher posts, candidates are generally expected to have completed higher secondary education. Middle school positions typically require a bachelor’s degree plus a two-year diploma in elementary education or equivalent. For secondary and higher secondary teacher posts, candidates will need a graduation or master’s degree with a two-year degree in education or qualification specified by the notification.

Policy context and government targets

The recruitment push forms part of the state administration’s broader commitment to accelerate hiring across departments. In November 2025 the state government outlined plans to create employment opportunities over the next five years as part of a drive to provide work to one million young people in Bihar. The administration has been reviewing vacancies across departments and instructed all departments to submit existing vacancy lists to the general administration department by 31 December, to ensure prompt filling of posts.

With roster details now being finalised from districts including Siwan, Madhepura, Khagaria, Araria and Sheikhpura, education officials are aiming to minimise delays in issuing the BPSC TRE 4 notification. Applicants are advised to prepare required documents, keep track of official timelines and apply promptly once the recruitment portal opens.

For the latest updates and official instructions, candidates should refer to the Bihar Public Service Commission website at bpsc.bihar.gov.in.

  • The BPSC TRE 4 notification could be released in February 2026 to fill over 27,000 teacher vacancies.
  • Key dates include district submissions by 5 January and vacancy details to BPSC by around 15 January 2026.
