The Karnataka government has moved to modernise human resources at the state-run bus operator with the launch of the KSRTC Saarige Mitra HRMS 2.0 mobile application. Transport Minister B. Ramalingareddy inaugurated the app on the first day of the new year, describing it as a step towards greater digital transformation, transparency and improved employee welfare.
KSRTC HRMS app streamlines staff services
The KSRTC HRMS app is designed to provide quick access to a range of personnel services on employees’ smartphones. Officials said the platform was developed to make human resources functions more efficient and accessible, allowing drivers, conductors and administrative staff to view personal records and manage routine tasks without visiting offices.
Key features include a geo-fencing based attendance system that records staff presence at designated locations, a monthly attendance dashboard, detailed service registers and personal information pages. Staff can view family member and nominee details within the app and download monthly pay slips with a single click. The application also provides an in-built leave management module so employees can check leave balances and submit requests remotely.
Beyond individual services, the app aims to strengthen internal communication across the corporation. It will display circulars and notices issued by various departments and provide details of official tours and deployments, helping supervisors and staff coordinate schedules and assignments more effectively.
At the launch event, KSRTC Managing Director Akram Pasha and Director Nandini Devi were present alongside the transport minister. Officials emphasised that the app is a first step in a broader digitalisation push intended to reduce paperwork, speed up routine HR processes and improve accountability across the organisation.
Expected benefits and rollout
Officials expect the KSRTC HRMS app to reduce administrative delays and cut costs associated with manual processing. By enabling real-time attendance verification through geo-fencing, the app should make attendance monitoring less prone to error and manipulation. One-click access to payslips and service records will simplify statutory and financial queries for employees and streamline payroll-related interactions.
The transport department indicated that the app will be progressively rolled out to all KSRTC employees. Training and support measures will accompany deployment to ensure staff who are less familiar with smartphones can adopt the system. The initiative also aligns with state-level digital governance efforts that seek to deliver public services more efficiently through mobile platforms.
Users can find links to the application on the publisher’s app pages for Android and iOS as well as follow updates via social channels. The KSRTC Saarige Mitra HRMS 2.0 app represents a practical step towards modernising the human resources framework of one of India’s largest state transport corporations, with a focus on transparency, convenience and staff welfare.
