MFM TMPM Lekki Builds Road and Installs Borehole to Strengthen Itedo Community
The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) Tent Maker Pastoral Ministry (TMPM) Region 1, Lekki, has completed a series of humanitarian projects in Itedo, Lagos, delivering an access road, grading internal streets and installing a borehole to provide clean water to residents.
MFM Lekki community projects boost access and livelihoods
The fully constructed access road connecting Freedom Way to Salvation Road has improved mobility for people and goods, enhanced safety and eased access to social services. Church leaders said the works have reduced travel time and raised economic activity by improving the flow of traffic and goods in the area.
Alongside the road, the newly installed borehole supplies potable water to households that previously faced long journeys to fetch water. The church reports the borehole has cut the time women and girls spend collecting water, freeing up hours for education and income-generating activities.
“We are committed to practical acts of service,” said Pastor Sola Oladipo, Regional Overseer of MFM TMPM Region 1, Lekki. He added that the humanitarian services are rooted in the church’s mission to help the needy and improve community welfare regardless of religion, gender or tribe.
As part of the same initiative, the church graded internal roads within Itedo to improve drainage and day-to-day accessibility. Local leaders and residents have welcomed the interventions, praising the church for investing in durable infrastructure and essential services.
Skills training, scholarships and medical support
Beyond infrastructure, MFM TMPM Lekki trained over 50 members of the public in marketable skills such as fashion design, bakery and barbing. Beneficiaries received starter packs to help them launch small enterprises, a move designed to promote financial independence and reduce unemployment pressures in the community.
The church also runs weekly free feeding programmes targeting the less privileged, homeless groups and others in need. Scholarship awards for indigent but academically gifted students form part of the educational support offered to help young people pursue their studies.
Medical outreach remains another pillar of the church’s social interventions. MFM TMPM Lekki organises free clinics and, where necessary, pays medical and surgical bills for members of the host community, prioritising the most vulnerable even when they are not church members.
Pastor Oladipo said the activities form part of the Explosive Evangelism Initiative (EEI), an outreach strategy that pairs evangelism with social intervention. He commended MFM’s General Overseer, Dr Daniel Kolawole Olukoya, and his wife for encouraging all branches to invest in corporate social responsibility alongside spiritual work.
Residents, community leaders and beneficiaries have expressed gratitude for the interventions, noting immediate improvements in daily life and prospects. The combination of infrastructure works, skills training and welfare services aims to deliver both short-term relief and longer-term opportunities for self-reliance.
MFM TMPM Region 1, Lekki, said it will continue to implement community-focused projects as part of its ongoing commitment to social welfare and community development across its areas of operation.
