Some 2,126 students across Pandavapura taluk have registered for the SSLC examinations for the 2025–26 academic year, the Block Education Officer Dharma Shetty said at a parents’ meeting on Saturday. The meeting, held in the secondary school section of the government pre-university college in the town, laid out the local administration’s plans to boost preparedness and attendance.
SSLC registrations Pandavapura
Officials say practice examinations have already been conducted for SSLC candidates and a series of preparatory tests will take place from 5 to 10 January. Question papers tailored to support students’ learning and mimic annual exam conditions have been prepared and will be distributed to help familiarise pupils with the format and format of expected questions.
“All arrangements are being made to secure a 100% pass rate this year,” Mr Shetty told the parents’ assembly. To achieve this, headteachers are conducting house-to-house visits to encourage regular school attendance among registered students. Special coaching sessions are being held daily from 8:30am until 5:30pm to provide additional teaching time and doubt-clearing opportunities.
Speakers at the meeting underlined the need for targeted support. Besides classroom instruction, teachers will use the practice papers to identify gaps and deliver focused revisions. Parents were urged to ensure their children participate in both the preparatory exams and the extended coaching schedule to make the most of the resources on offer.
The meeting also addressed a sensitive attendance issue affecting girls. A parent raised a case in which a tenth-grade girl’s father had died and her guardians were reluctant to send her to school. S. Ashwath Narayan, a member of the school’s coordination committee, responded firmly that girls must not be prevented from attending school for any reason. He warned that denying a child’s right to education and allowing child marriage could attract legal consequences for parents.
Local stakeholders echoed the message of safeguarding pupils’ rights while offering practical help to families in distress. The headteachers and committee members said they would follow up with at-risk households and link them with available welfare services where necessary.
The meeting was chaired by SDMC president Makegowda. Other attendees included committee member N. Krishnegowda, headmaster N. Mahadevappa and teachers Karimunneesa and Savita. Their presence underscored a collaborative approach across school management and the local community to support the SSLC cohort.
Education officials stressed that the combined measures — practice tests, scheduled preparatory exams, extended coaching and home outreach — are intended not only to improve examination performance but also to reinforce regular attendance and protect students’ rights, particularly for girls. The local effort in Pandavapura reflects wider priorities in the region to strengthen foundational schooling and reduce barriers to completion.
Parents unable to attend the meeting were encouraged to contact the headteacher for further details on the preparatory schedule and support measures. School authorities said they will continue monitoring attendance and progress in the run-up to the SSLC examinations.
