Planetarium Jakarta Tickets Now Available On the Spot at TIM, Indonesia

Planetarium Jakarta has introduced an on-site ticketing option for performances at Teater Bintang, a move aimed at easing the long-running issue of rapid online sell-outs. PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro), which manages the venue, confirmed that half of each performance’s tickets will now be made available for purchase at the theatre’s official box office at Taman Ismail Marzuki (TIM).

How to buy Planetarium Jakarta tickets

There are two official channels for securing admission. Online sales remain exclusive to Loket.com, where general visitors may buy up to five tickets per transaction and students are limited to a single ticket. The remaining 50 percent of tickets for each session are reserved for on-the-spot purchases at the Teater Bintang box office, located at the drop-off area of Gedung Trisno Soemardjo within TIM.

Visitors buying on-site will receive a physical ticket at the counter. E-ticket holders who purchase through Loket.com must present themselves in person at the Teater Bintang box office to verify and exchange their e-ticket for a physical pass no later than 30 minutes before the performance begins. Ticket exchanges cannot be delegated, and visitors must bring an official form of identification that matches the booking data.

Jakpro emphasised the strict quota system that governs entry to Teater Bintang. “The ticket distribution for Teater Bintang Planetarium has been set strictly on a quota basis. There will be no addition of capacity beyond the available tickets,” said Anya A. Christiana, Head of SBU Taman Ismail Marzuki at Jakpro. The company also stated it does not work with third parties or individuals for ticket sales, underscoring that the only authorised online channel is Loket.com and the only authorised physical point of sale is the TIM box office.

The new arrangement is intended to balance fairness and accessibility. Frequent complaints that online allotments vanished within minutes prompted the change. By reserving a significant on-the-spot allocation, Jakpro aims to give walk-in visitors and those without reliable internet access a better chance to attend popular sessions.

Practical tips for visitors: arrive at TIM early if you plan to purchase on-site as daily quotas apply and sessions run from morning through the afternoon. Bring valid identification if you hold an e-ticket to speed up the exchange process. Keep in mind the per-transaction limits—five tickets for general visitors and one for student-category purchases—and that each ticket admits one person for a single entry.

Jakpro warned that there will be no tolerance for scalpers. Local officials and venue staff will enforce the official sales channels to prevent unauthorised reselling. For the latest session schedules and to buy online, visitors should use Loket.com; for immediate on-site availability, head to the official Teater Bintang box office at TIM.

The policy aims to ensure transparent access to the Planetarium’s shows while preserving safety and capacity limits. Patrons are advised to check performance times and ticketing rules ahead of their visit to avoid disappointment.

Key Takeaways:

  • Planetarium Jakarta tickets are split 50/50 between online sales via Loket.com and on-the-spot purchases at the official TIM box office.
  • On-the-spot sales are handled only at the Teater Bintang Planetarium counter at Gedung Trisno Soemardjo drop-off; e-tickets must be exchanged in person 30 minutes before the show.
  • Strict quota system: no additional admissions, no third-party sellers, and purchase limits apply (general up to five, students one).
