Hưng Yên province has started construction on three major transport infrastructure projects designed to improve connectivity between key expressways and enhance road safety for local communities. The works form part of a broader effort to strengthen the province’s transport network and support economic activity in the Red River Delta region.
Hưng Yên transport infrastructure advances with three projects
The most significant scheme is the project to build overpasses and safety works on the road that links the Hanoi–Hai Phong expressway with the Cầu Giẽ–Ninh Bình expressway. The route crosses several communes including Yên Mỹ, Việt Tiến, Lương Bằng, Nghĩa Dân, Xuân Trúc, Hoàng Hoa Thám and Phố Hiến. The project carries an approved budget of more than VND 729 billion and is scheduled for implementation between 2025 and 2027.
Within this corridor, the construction of the Cửu An bridges has also begun. Two parallel bridges, Cửu An 1 on the right and Cửu An 2 on the left, lie in Lương Bằng commune. The section runs from Km13+256 to Km14+651 of the connecting road and has an allocated budget of more than VND 403 billion. These structures will ease traffic flow along the corridor and reduce congestion at local crossings.
Separately, the DT.382C project will upgrade the section from its junction with DT.387 to the central spine road of the southern urban area of National Route 5. The work passes through Đường Hào ward, covers 2.57 kilometres and carries a total investment of VND 456.14 billion. Like the other schemes, this project is programmed for completion in the 2025 to 2027 timeframe.
Local authorities and the Project Management Board No. 1 are concentrating on accelerating land clearance so construction can proceed without delay. The provincial people’s committees, together with relevant departments and agencies, are coordinating closely to resolve right-of-way issues and to ensure compensation and resettlement arrangements are implemented fairly and on time.
Contractors have been instructed to mobilise machines, equipment and labour promptly. Project teams are required to adhere to approved schedules and to meet technical and quality standards set by the provincial authorities. Supervisory measures will be applied to ensure that workmanship and materials comply with specifications and that safety protocols are observed on site.
Once completed, these projects are expected to shorten travel times between major expressways, improve road safety for commuters and freight, and support the movement of goods across the region. Improved connectivity may also attract further investment into Hưng Yên and neighbouring localities by easing access to logistics corridors and industrial zones.
The simultaneous progress of these schemes reflects Hưng Yên’s commitment to upgrading local infrastructure and to leveraging transport improvements as a platform for economic growth. Officials say timely completion will be a priority so the new links can be opened to traffic and begin delivering benefits to residents and businesses as soon as possible.
