The Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund, together with the “For Beloved Hoàng Sa – Trường Sa” club and Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television, outlined its achievements at an event held on 3 January. Former Vice-President Trương Mỹ Hoa, who leads the fund and the club, said the organisation channelled more than VND 56.7 billion in 2025 towards deep‑investment projects, scholarships and regular support activities for students from remote and island areas.

Trương Mỹ Hoa credited the fund’s results to sustained support from sponsors and donors, noting that long-term partnerships have helped projects achieve measurable outcomes. The fund places emphasis on quality support rather than short-term aid, targeting education and development initiatives that help students complete their studies and secure employment.

“This work succeeds because sponsors and benefactors are willing to share responsibility and stand alongside these communities,” Ms Hoa said. She highlighted that many scholarship recipients have graduated with high honours and returned to their home provinces to work, contributing to the security and development of Vietnam’s border and island regions.

The scholarship network now includes 187 organisational members and over 6,300 individual supporters. Beyond charitable giving, members collaborate to promote patriotic values and social responsibility. Ms Hoa pointed to a notable rise in young volunteers and donors, which she described as a generational continuation of civic duty.

Among the fund’s success stories is Bùi Thị Hồng Nhung, a former beneficiary who graduated with distinction from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities under Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Nhung has returned to her home region to work and mentor other young women from ethnic minority backgrounds, saying she wants to help others achieve their ambitions.

“I want to offer the knowledge I gained to my community and help ethnic minority girls follow their dreams,” Nhung said, explaining her motivation for returning home.

Nguyễn Minh Triết, Permanent Secretary of the Central Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Students’ Association, commended the fund and its partners for their sustained commitment. He stressed that the outcomes achieved were the result of many individuals, businesses and donors working together.

Mr Triết encouraged current and former scholarship recipients to continue developing their skills and to contribute to their villages and provinces. He called on young people to nurture ambitious but constructive goals that align with national development, and to play their part in building a prosperous, civilised and happy country.

The Vừ A Dính Scholarship Fund has operated for over a quarter of a century, with a particular focus on students from mountainous and island regions. Its approach combines financial support with mentorship and targeted projects designed to create lasting change. As membership grows and a new generation of volunteers becomes more involved, the fund’s leaders hope to extend their reach and deepen the impact of their programmes across Vietnam.
